Im looking in ads for a second job and one position that caught my eye is for a grooming shop..hiring all positions.

Before I respond I would like to ask you groomers

What positions are typically available in grooming shops and are there any that don't require grooming experience?

Yes- bather. Usually you can get in with no experience, especially you since you have handling skills I don't see why you couldn't get a job. You start out bathing, blow drying, brushing, clipping nails, cleaning ears, probably answering phones making appointments, too. If it works out, some places will apprentence you to be a groomer.

I think you would be a shoe in :).....I think they would be lucky to have someone w/your hands on experience with strong willed dogs and dogs w/some out of the normal "issues"..

Let's see, some shops have:

Receptionists\secretaries

Bathers

Cleaners

Daycare staff (if it has a daycare available)

Boarding staff (again, if the facility has boarding)

All of these would require little to no 'prior experience' or training...that you have experience with dogs will help you greatly in their consideration for any of these jobs. ;)
