We adopted a four month old border collie mix. She tested positive for giardia, which we treated, and subsequent tests came back negative.

Her stool starts somewhat (but not healthily) firm, but ends very soft and almost liquid. Sometimes she will strain a bit at the end, and other times she will take a few steps away from the first poop and try again.

Also, it reeks to high heaven.

She is currently on Blue Buffalo puppy chow.

Any suggestions on firming it up? I'm tired of trying to pick up her poop only to have it get mushed into the grass!

Add a couple of tablespoons of pure canned pumpkin to her food. Make sure it isn't spiced pie filling and says 100% pure.
Feed 2 small meals daily rather than one. Often, over feeding will cause diarrhea.
