I just bought a gsd puppy at 10 weeks old. He has taken two DA2PP shots. One on 2/16 and the 2nd one on 3/6. When is the earliest I can take him to get his third shots? I want to take him outside so he can do his business outside and start to potty train him. I was told I can bring him out once he had 3 vaccinations but I am getting confuse with all the types of vaccinations and timelines. The breeder told me every three to four weeks to get his shots before the vaccinations process expire and require a new vaccinations process starting from the first shot.

I am afraid coronavirus will induce a shutdown and wanted to know how soon I can bring him for his third vaccination shot?

This is the link for the most recent American Animal Hospitals Association recommendations. https://www.aaha.org/globalassets/0...recommendation_for_general_practice_table.pdf However, you also need to consult with your vet to take local conditions into account.

The critical socialization/"exposure to the world" window typically closes before the last set of vaccinations are given (you can still do it after then, but it's harder). You can take him out and about, but use common sense.... think of it more as a sightseeing trip than a meet-and-greet with every person and dog you come across. Go to an area that isn't heavily trafficked by other dogs, and sit and watch the world go by. Heck, even your front porch is good, if there are things to see from there. You can take him for short walks, again not where there is a lot of dog traffic, and let him sniff and look to his heart's content. If you know of someone with a healthy, vaccinated, and puppy-proof adult dog, you can set up a few play dates for them.

Thank you very much for the advice. Its just I am afraid of a lockdown in my state ( NYC ) because of the coronavirus. Do you think getting his 3rd 5 in 1 shot at 11 weeks will be too soon? (Because I read I can bring him out after his third shot)

Puppy series shots are typically given at three week intervals. If he gets his third shot that early, he will probably need another booster at around 16 weeks to ensure that his maternal antibodies don't prevent the vaccines from being effective.
