My new Spaniel mix puppy is REFUSING to sleep in his cage so I let him in my room which is puppy proof and he is currently sleeping on the floor fine, I have two other dogs and they never did this. WHYYY???!!!

Our current dog is the first one we've ever had that would not sleep in a crate as an adult. She preferred her crate as a puppy. But at about 2 years old she started whining all night long. We tried having her sleep in our room (I don't allow dogs on the bed though) and she has done just fine. Every few months she will have a night where she wanders around at 4am for a few minutes and the sound of her nails on the hardwood wakes me up. But it doesn't happen often enough to banish her. So, in the bedroom it is.
