I have read on here a few times how important it is for a puppy to get into a kindergarten class. I called the local AKC and got our puppy in the class and it starts tonight.

I'm looking forward to it, and think he'll enjoy spending time with other puppies. Thing is, I don't really know what to expect from this. Is it more for the socialization, or do they help us teach commands, etc? What are your experiences from taking these classes?

Thanks!

Puppy classes usually cover everything you need to know about raising a puppy...basic commands, leashes, collars, socialization, health, grooming, how to build trust and confidence, toys, games, potty training, crate training, etc. Some classses will cover basic issues like chewing, jumping, biting and barking either in discussion mode or thru handouts.
