Puppies of all breeds have different hair than they will have as adults. Bichon puppy hair is thinner, soft, and wavy, not curly. Sometime between the age of 6 months and 1 year or so puppies will shed out/lose the puppy coat as adult coat comes in. Often it can look splotchy, tho sometimes its even all over in the change. They get matted faster, because thicker coat is growing in as puppy coat is falling out, and if not brushed out, will get caught in the new coat and matt up. Adult bichon coat is thick, coarser, and curly. Of course breeding and genetics play a big part also. A quality bred bichon will have a thick, semi coarse, curly coat that looks smooth like glass when scissored.
It can take up to one year of age sometimes for a testicle to drop. Even if it doesnt, when he is neutered, they can get it too, its just a little more invasive than a normal neuter, but not as much as a spay on a female.
