[Vampiric Conure]

My almost 6 month old cross breed puppy, Myrrh, has started growling at me when I ask her to get off the futon - a loud growl and lips curled. I don't take her guff and pull her by the collar to get off, but I don't want to be bit, either. What is the proper way to handle this situation? She's a resource guarder, too. I trade her the treasured item with some liver treats and in most cases it works. I'm used to Whippets, which are so malleable. Nothing like this.
