Puppy diarrhea

Hi everyone,

So for the past two days our pup Boots has been having terrible diarrhea at night. He’s 10 weeks old and has been sleeping through the nights with a potty break since we brought him home. However the past two nights we’ve woken up to diarrhea in his crate. Two nights ago at 2 and at 415 he had diarrhea before I eventually got up with him at 445 and allowed him to sleep in the living room. Then all day yesterday he had 3 totally normal bowel movements but last night I was awoken to diarrhea again.

He goes potty at 11-1130 typically and goes both poop and pee. Then will pee around 3 typically and is good until 7ish.

We’re first time puppy parents and are concerned/worried but not sure how worried to be considering his stool returns to normal during the day. Beyond that, his energy levels and attitude remain happy and playful so he’s not displaying any signs of illness.

TIA

Call a vet. Puppies can dehydrate very quickly and loose bowels are often a sign of other more serious problems.
Any time the dog has diarrhea and stops eating he should be taken to the vet right away. It could b parvovirus, the deadly contagious disease that affects puppies. If he has appetite than it can be Giardiasis.
