I would like to be clear that your message has not been received well. Your assumptions on how I view a puppy is inappropriate of you to say the least. I do not view my puppy as a fur baby. The puppy is indeed a domesticated animal. One with intellectual capacity and one capably of an everlasting bond with an owner. I do advocate for my puppy. I do feel your comment is simply an opinion and like all opinions I am open to reading but simply take with a grain of salt. I disagree with your statement on socialization of puppies. It is healthy for puppies to develop boundaries but to also be socialized in a manner in which dogs communicate as well. Dogs do sniff one another and develop bonds as they become comfortable with one another. I do believe it is important for dogs to defend themselves but personally I think the aggression was a form of fear. And fear can stem from a lack of socialization. And I do believe you misinterpreted my message or I did not properly communicate that the puppy bit my hand after the rock was already out of her mouth and I had picked her up. I do not feel my puppy has any possessive aggression towards objects at this time. In my personal opinion I Do Not think you know best on this subject. Thank you anyways.Puppy and you need to learn the trade game. Whatever puppy has you trade for. Your trade has to be higher value to the dog than what the dog already has. Start with trading food for toy
Puppy should not go visiting other dogs. Thst is not socialization. You take your puppy out and about NO ONE should bend over to pet the puppy. NO other dogs should come up to puppy. Older dog in puppy's face is very threatening to puppies. ADVOCATE FOR YOUR PUPPY by NOT allowing other dogs to approach.
Puppies need boundaries and structure. This doesn't mean aversives as much as it means clarity.
The puppy bit the other dog because you did not get between puppy and other dog and show your puppy you would "deal with this." Your puppy bit you because you took something the puppy wanted and offered nothing better in trade.
Your puppy is not aggressive. Your puppy is acting like a puppy/dog (not a fur baby).
