I did a search here and on the web in general, but couldn't really find much information. I know that some illnesses (parvo, distemper?) can be passed indirectly from an infected dog to an unvaccinated puppy. Can puppies contract disease from indirect contact with other animals? We have a number of deer who hang out in our yard; could they transmit anything to our puppy? I know to look for ticks, but is there anything else we should be aware of?

Thanks!

From deer-
Worms mostly like tapeworms from eating the poop. Lepto if its in your area. Tick-borne diseases like Lyme.

I suggest just trying to keep puppy from eating any deer (or other) poop. Otherwise I wouldn't worry.

Thank you for the advice. There are sooo many things to think about...

Otherwise I wouldn't worry.
ha ha! Worry is my middle name :) If I don't have something legitimate to fret about, I'll find something completely irrational to stress over.
