I know this is not about dogs but....

My 4 year old granddaughter was rushed to the hospital tonight with a ruptured appendix and is having emergency surgery in a couple hours. I am worried sick about her and my daughter who is beside herself with worry. I can't get a flight to Vegas where they live till tomorrow. I have been wanting to fly down for a visit for ages but this is NOT how I wanted to go. Thankgod I have wonderful friends who are stepping in to help me pay for the flight (1248.00) and take care of my pets and house . So please pray that all goes well in surgery and she has a fast recovery, its gonna be hard to keep an active 4 year old down .

You and your family are in my prayers dear, fortunately the procedure is pretty common and her worst risk is secondary infection from the rupture. I know it doesn't lessen the worry, surgery is scary, but try to take comfort in that small thing. ((HUGS)))

UPDATE: She made it fine through surgery but is now having an alergic reaction to the pain meds. My poor baby girl !! She is being such a trooper.
I made it to the airport in Anchorage (200 mile drive ), 5 more hours and I will be in Vegas with tons of grandma love for her !!

Sending good thoughts. My appendix ruptured around that age and was actually delayed in getting diagnosed, (bad Chinese doctors). I came out fine although I did cause quite a bit of stress for my parents and relatives.

Keep us posted! My daughter had hers out at 10 and then had a reaction to the hypoallergenic sutures! The first few days are the worst.
