My puppy is 8 months old. We have a doggy door leading out to our balcony where she has a real grass patch for potty. She has been consistent for months in letting herself out and peeing on the grass patch.

Within the past 2 weeks, she will "miss" the grass patch and pee just in front/around it straight onto the concrete. She is doing this every time now. If I catch her doing it, I will gently catch her attention and put her fully on the grass patch to finish, but when we are gone she can go in and out of the door on her own and we often come home to pee all over the concrete.

Any idea why she is doing this now randomly and how to correct??

Any chance she's fastidious and that grass patch has been used so long it's saturated with urine to the point she doesn't want to get on it?

I replace the grass every 3 weeks, this one is only a week old and even when it gets pretty brown she has gone on it no problem before so I don't think that's it. I feel like maybe she's rebelling and needs a mini re-train with positive enforcement when she does it the right way??

I'd suggest a larger patch.

Or just get accustomed to rinsing the concrete when needed.

I would not turn this into a battle. Rinse the concrete using a hose.. If you make this into a "thing" she may decide that going to the bathroom outside is bad and choose, instead, to pee indoors.
