I was sitting outside this morning and the dogs came out and right away I notice Zeke was holding his tail weird. He normally greets me with a big wag....this morning he was just holding it down. When he goes into the yard he usually carries it so it's curved up some. I told him to get the "kitties" and he usually perks right up and his tail goes right in the air and his facial expression looked normal, but his tail just hung. It seems to me that the base of his tail is slightly swollen. My boys said that when they were going to bed last night, he was trying to sleep with a boy staying the night and the boy pushed him off of the bed with his foot  Zeke will let me touch it, but when I try to feel if it feels like it's broke, he just sits down right away. He can wag the very end of it....could it be broke? Sprained? My poor Zekerton!

Yeah, sounds like limp tail syndrome. It's basically a sprain to the tail. Definitely take him to the vet, because it could be something else, but LTS usually passes within a few weeks.

Yep! Sprain to his tail....the vet said it will take almost a month to fully recover and we have to give him aspirin twice a day for a week then cut it in half for a week. He was in better spirits last night, which is a relief. I hate it when they're hurt....he looked so pathetic and sad. She also said she wants me to bring him there every so often to get him used to the 'ramp' they use to get him on the table. That was quite a chore to get him up there. lol

Glad to hear it was just a sprained tail and not something more serious! Thank you for returning to update us; lots of people don't and I always wonder what happened to their dogs. Hope Zeke recovers well and quickly. :)

Sydney sprained her tail once not long ago. It scared the crap out of me but it turned out to be nothing serious and went back to normal a couple days later. Must have been quite a sprain for the healing time the vet told you. Hope he feels better soon. :)

I am glad as well. We had a dog when I was younger that we thought hurt his tail and we took him to the vet and found out it was the discs in his back. He lost use of his hind end after awhile. :-(
