i have a 5 year old Miniature Pinscher, he is like life, and he as been very sick lately, i took him to a vet and they couldnt figure out what was wrong with him, so im goin to take him somewhere else, however i cant right now bc money is soo tight, and its just soo expensive, so i was hoping that someone on here would have some answers for me.. heres the problem:

For the last week/week & a half, my dog would eat his lunch (he only eats one meal a day) and within 2 minutes of finishing eating, he throws up EVERYTHIGN he just ate, and its all expanded, chewed up food, and its not wet at all, its lkike jus dried chewed up food and like tubed shaped, in the shape of his throat. and he threw that up for like 4 5 days in a row, and then the vet gave me some differant food for him, like prescribed food, and gave him an antibiotic shot, along with an iv for fluids, and for 4-6 days he did great, and didnt throw up, and was even eating better, but now, this morning, he started throwing up bile- a yellowish foam-liquid, and it was like suffocating on it, i had to help him get it out, and he keeps throwin up the bile all morning and hes acting very mellow and his eyes look heavy..

and hes not eating grass, and there is not even a chance, that he got into something, or ate somthing poisonous, or sumthin of the sort. hes very picky, not to mention he never out of my sight. he has seperation anxiety so if i leave a room, hes right there with me, when i take a shower he sits in front of the shower waiting, so its impossible that he ate something that he shouldnt have.

also, i think that i should also mention his gingivitus/periodontal disease. the vet said it was fine, but it is soo clearly not. i brush his teeth frequently, but i only got him a year ago, and the previous owner, didn take care of him, or even brush his teeth at all, so they are in pretty bad shape, so bad that his four front, bottom teeth are loose, one of which is soo loose that i could pop it out without even trying, AND that tooths, gum is EXTREMELY receded from his tooth. so i was thinking maybe the bacteria that was creeping in thru the receded gum, might have something to do with it? but i cant be sure, especially since our vet said it wasnt a big deal, althought i dont think she knows what she is talking about.

with that said, ANY IDEAS?

PLEASE HELP, any ideas will be greatly appreciated. this dog is my life, as weird as that sounds, he really is. i was in a really bad state of depression for 2 years, and when i got him, he pulled me out of it, hes like my baby, more than that hes like a best friend, and i cry at the mere THOUGHT of having to give him up, or put him down, so PLEASE,help me figure somthing out...

If I were you, I'd give him several small meals a day. I think he's eating too fast. You could mix in a little plain yogurt. Or moisten it with some water.

Does he have diarrhea? Could he have a blockage somewhere?

poor little guy. My best wishes to both of you.
The teeth could play a major part in this. If there is an infection..... I know money is tight, is there any way you could bring him to the different vet? Maybe a back up credit card?

And Leroy, I agree, try more, smaller meals. Maybe even boiled chicken and rice could settle his belly.

Your post concerns me! I hope you can get him to the vet soon!

Call you vet back. Tell him/her your dog has had a relapse. (vomiting again). You may be able to pick up a different med. Be honest with you vet and explain you financial situation. Please do not let this go too long you have a small breed dog and it doesn't take much for dehydration to occur. Their are a couple of links here for help with paying for medical care. Patt posted a couple. I can't remember the other members that have posted them. Anyone.

Ditto several small meals a day of skinless, boneless boiled chicken and rice. Do it for 2 days or so, then start mixing in 1/4 of dog food to 3/4 chicken/rice for 2 days, increasing the amount of dog food to chicken/rice about every 2 days.

See if that helps.

Yellow bile throw up usually happens when the dog isn't eating often enough.

If he doesn't stop throwing up in a couple of days, you MUST get him to a vet. There are several resources you might try...

1) Call your local rescues and ask if they know of anywhere you might get financial assistance for an emergency vet visit. Will the rescue pay for it and let you repay them in pmts?

2) Call different vets and ask if you can make pmts.

3) www.carecredit.com Will give you a line of credit to pay vet bills.

4) payday loan companies

5) Apply for a credit card

6)car title loan companies

7) pawn shops- pawn a tv/stereo, jewelry, computer, guns, etc

Oh, he's SO cute! Poor little guy, I hope he'll be OK.
I'm not a vet & can't offer any medical advice, but I think he's needs to get into a vet again right away. They may have to do x-rays to determine if there's a blockage, but again, I'm not a vet.
Hopefully one of the resources above will help you in getting medical attention ASAP. My best wishes to both of you!

thank u. and yes, i add water to his food everyday to makeit more moist, it seems to have worked for those couple of days, until this morning. and he actually never had a big appetite until recently, its really strange. like even before he throws up, his appetite grew. but anyways, no, there is no diarrhea, at least not regularly, but he has ALWAYS had trouble going to the bathroom. and more often then not,its more soft. but it hasnt been diarrhea lately that ive noticed.

the first reply i wrote was to "leroymydog" and also, Thank you to the rest of you, i appreciatee it. i will def, be tryin all of the above in hopes that something will help. also a special thanks to "spotted nikes" for all the resources,i will def be checking those out. same to agility collie mom.

Get your dog to a vet soon. We went through these symptoms and may have waited too long. Has the dog's food been consistent? We think our 11 - year old shepherd cross Miller may have eaten some of the Melamine contaminated food at some point in the past and eventually his kidneys gave out too soon. It doesn't mean your pooch has the same problem. Have the vet check his blood/urine proteins. Have them rule out pancreatitis as well. Good luck, we found out the hard way and the diagnosis charges aren't cheap here in Toronto.

Try giving him 5 small meals a day (evenly spaced) of boiled chicken and a little rice (more chicken than rice). Very small meals....I'm sure he doesn't need much food, being so small, and you want to give his tummy a break. If he keeps throwing up, he will need to see a vet---the little guys can go downhill so fast. He might need another round of antibiotics, if it is an infection. But hopefully it's just an upset stomach and the small bland meals will help.

P.S.---once you get him feeling better, talk to the vet about a dental cleaning. Bad teeth can make a dog very sick.
