Hello. We adopted a 2yr. old rescue chocolate lab in Nov. She is a great dog. When we got her she loved dogs and was super social, and has been up until all of a sudden recently. We first noticed it with her standing over another smaller dog, and then last week she barked, jumped at and growled at a dog passing us at the park (for the first time since we have had her). We are planning on adopting another rescue dog, but we were going to wait until we fix this problem. We love her so much and we don't know what to do.:(

It's not unheard of for personalities of adopted dogs to change after they settle down for better or for worse. I would consult a trained behaviorist. Without seeing the actual behavior is person, it's difficult to evaluate.

The behaviors you describe could be simple play behaviors or could be something far more serious. Again, it's difficult to evaluate without actually seeing them.

All sudden changes in personality or behavior should signal a vet check. Everything from thyroid malfunction to a simple thing like a cracked tooth can bring about sudden changes.
