Oh, I am sorry for the sad diagnosis. I have a kidney dog and she is doing okay with a special diet and lots of extra fluids. Her liver isn't too awful yet. 15.5 years old and she has lived with this for 2 years this past month. Her disease was discovered, she wasn't feeling too awful yet.

Here is a page with information and links on liver disease
http://www.dogaware.com/specific.html#liver. Get hard copies of the lab work done for your dog so you can try to figure things out.

Wow, I was hoping it wasn't both bad kidneys and bad liver! Sassy has the kidney thing for certain, a high normal pancreatic enzyme, one higher than normal liver enzyme and the vet says her heart murmur is getting worse. From my online reading all of this stuff goes together. Old age, something is going to get you.
