Lately, our dog, Coco, has been really protective over me. When my husband comes towards me he will jump up and run towards me and lay on me like he is protecting me. Then when my husband comes towards us he will kiss him like nothing but today when my husband moved forward to give me a kiss Coco bit his nose. What can we do to prevent this from happening again and fix him from being too overprotective over me? Thank you.

Your dog is not protecting you. He is afraid and seeking comfort and protection from your husband by going to you. You represent safety. Your husband has a different posture and different voice tone and your dog (most dogs actually) feel threatened when someone leans over them.

The answer is when your husband comes towards you the dog cannot jump up on you or you stand up so the dog cannot jump on you. Meanwhile your husband needs to do some work on his relationship with the dog (a little training with treats and taking the dog out without you etc.).
