Finnlee is now a 17 week old chihuahua/papillon mix. I'm pretty sure he's outgrown his wire puppy crate. His ears are poking through the top. I have a 24 inch plastic crate ready and he is used to it. But there is quite a bit of room that he could use as a bathroom and he isn't completely potty trained yet. He mostly curls into a ball when he is in the crate. Stretched out though he looks like he needs room. Should I make the switch or wait?

This are the two crates I'm talking about:

Midwest Contour

Petmate Ruff Maxx Kennel for Dogs & Cats

All of you are such a great help for a nervous puppy owner.

I'd switch to the larger crate. He's probably getting the concept of potty training even if he isn't 100% and I think its better to deal with an occassional potty accident then to have the dog feels cramped if he needs to stretch out now and then.
