Our 13-year, 6-month Dalmatian is unable to stand without help and is urinating and pooping in her bed. She is swollen on both sides. We have been to three veterinarians and have had ultrasound, x-rays, blood work done and two tests for Cushing’s and she has been given antibiotics, diarrhea and digestion medications but no one has been able to isolate what is going on except that she is old. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would call a Hospice vet and expect to make arrangements for a peaceful passing. Many areas have vets that can come to your home if you wish.

I have never regretted letting my late male go peacefully when his decline was fast and unpreventable. Painful to me emotionally was far better than painful to him physically.
