So, Lacey has a new thing she loves to do. That would be bringing me presents. Not the nice kind of presents you can show your friends, but typically chewed up, feathers missing, birds that have recently expired.

What was amusing was I had company over. Here comes Lacey trotting up with something in her mouth and she waited...I opened my hand and she deposited this poor mangled recently dead bird. As my friend burst into laughter at my disgust (because not only is it dead but it's rather slimy and really doesn't resemble much of a bird at this point) I get up and say "thank you Lacey" as I'm holding back a stream of vomit.

She did look rather dismayed that I took her present and disposed of it in the trash can though.

So, what kind of lovely presents do your dogs bring you?

Smalls brings me poop, dead birds, and sticks.
Jack brings the tennis ball.
Jonas brings me his blanket, because he likes to burrow under it and sleep. He brings it, I hold it up slightly so he can get in and curl up, then let it go. He's just using me. ;)

hehe funny thread. I don't have a yard so I have not had this experience but Ozzy is a terrier so I am sure if he could he would bring me some small dead thing. Right now he loves to bring his kong to me and then toss it at me and give a bark, it's his way of asking me to fill it up. My dog is kong obsessed! I usually have several lying around with remnants of treats in them. He also likes to bring me bones and try to intice me in tug of war... No dead animals yet though!

You must have taught Lacey that it's nice to share. My dog hasn't learned that yet. When she gets a bird in her mouth she GOBBLES it up then looks around for more. Sharing? Ha!! She does share her kongs with me - she carpet bombs my lap, head, whatever with kong after kong until I notice that - gasp! - she doesn't currently have a treat. Cruel world!!

Sharing is caring I suppose...I doubt the bird thought that it'd be a present for someone though.

Lily doesn't bring me presents, she eats them. Lacey brings them like "Oh look at what I brought you, isn't it the neatest thing ever?!" All excited and bouncing up and down. Goofy pup.

Lloyd brings me stuff, not dead things, but he will bring me his toys, my shoes, pens and pencils . . . Allie kills things if she can and then eats them, not bringing them back to me, lol. Nash I don't know yet:)
