I know the dad was for sure. I think the mom was too but she was a more solid colour. I didn't really have a good look at her.

Love his eyes.
My red merle Aussie had eyes like that when she was that age... but her eyes changed as she grew up. She only has half a blue eye now

Out of curiosity , did you buy him from a known breeder ? Just curious about you saying that his Dad was a merle as well as possibly the Mom ? Your aware of the trouble there right ? He's very cute but breeding two merles is a HUGE no no . Hopefully that's not the case , makes me wonder though with the amount of white he has. The more white , the more concerns there are for future health issues , i.e blindness , deafness ..

I seen the mother again this weekend and she is a solid reddish/brown color. No worries.
Not really a known breeder. She just happened to have a litter between her two purebreds on her farm. She is a big breeder with everything else though (horses, etc.). Like every other puppy, you take the risk of defects. I'm sure he'll do just fine. I checked his sight and hearing and they both seem good thus far. Unfortunately, you can't test for long term so I guess we will see what the man upstairs has in store for 'em.
