Just saw this posted on my local CL and then checked it out on Nutro's homepage. There is a voluntary recall on certain Nutro dry cat food and just wanted others to be aware if they use this food for their cats or knows of someone that does. Here's a link to the homepage, the recall is for a certain range of expiration dates "between May 12, 2010 and August 22, 2010".

They recalled it because of under supplementation of potassium and over supplementation of zinc oxide.

"Zinc poisoning from elemental zinc results in hemolysis, regenerative anemia, or renal failure."

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TELL EVERYONE.

People were contacting Nutro and the FDA about a possible investigation involving their food sickening some pets about a week ago, and they DENIED DENIED DENIED it until, all of a sudden, here is this announcement!

It's suspicious stuff. Apparently they didn't learn a thing from 2007.
