8 week old puppy seems to hate going into crate at night. It's only been the last couple of nights. She has a crate downstairs and one in our bedroom. She will happily wander in and out of crate downstairs and often goes in there to sleep. I make sure she is worn out before taking her up to bed, and has been for a wee. Once I get her upstairs she desperately doesn't want to go in crate, even with a raw hide chew I have to hold her in to shut the door. Cue several minutes (less than 5) of whining and yapping before falling fast asleep for the night.
Am I scarring her for life or impacting on eventually getting her to stay happily in her crate downstairs when we go out? Really eager to do things right but we are doing well with housetraining etc and don't want to mess things up.

I don't think they had but we've had it set up from day 1 and we're able to do the whole throwing treats in and putting her in whenever she was sleepy and stroking her. We feed her in her crate downstairs as well. We just need to progress to door closed to leave her in there.
