I just adopted a male Plott, estimated at 2 years old. Very sweet and affectionate but I dont think he’s been in a home for any length of time. He was found as a stray and sent to a rescue. He and my older male Golden Retriever are getting along pretty well. I plan to start him in basic obedience training. Can anyone tell me if this breed hates baths? This guy does. He also seems to be afraid of a lot of things (vacuum, TV noises, etc,) but I’m thinking that may be because he hasnt spent much time inside. Any pointers or info anyone can provide will be appreciated. Thank you.

I've never met a dog who likes baths, but my Plott was more tolerant than most and she was a serious swimmer. She would attack the sprinkler or garden hose. I'd say, in general, she liked the water - but not baths.

I'm using the past tense because we lost her to a stroke at age 14 a few months ago.

My Golden is really good for baths.
My adopted Plott, Dexter, is terrible. He dives out of the tub the minute water is turned on or touches him.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I know how difficult that is. I had a Shiba Inu and a GS/Chow mix since they were puppies. They were both 14 and I lost them 6 weeks apart in Sept and Nov last year. I miss them terribly. My Golden misses them too. He was 7 weeks old when I brought him home and he spent 8 years of his life with them. They become such a part of your family.
