Adopted a 3 year old terrier mix that had puppies on Christmas 2020. Not sure how many litters she may have had. She was a pregnant stray. Can anyone tell me how long, or if her teats will get back to normal? Also, her back teats are very baggy and forms a fold. What can I do to keep it clean and smelling good. She has a bit of a yeasty smell. Thanks for any information.

Thought exercise will help. Unfortunately, she is undergoing heartworm treatment and will be pretty much kennel bound for a couple months! YUK!

it's so great that you rescued her!! After the heartworm treatments are over I think you will see a big improvement .I think her teats should go back to normal soon. Did you ask her Vet? My beagle / Shar pei mix needs her folds cleaned all the time. There are gentle wipes out there that help, depending on what works for your dog. Best of luck...what's your fur Childs name?
So nice of you to give me advice. Our new lady is Zoe. She had the cutest puppies. All adopted. Yea! We got her from an SPCA, so getting really good care. I did ask them about her teats and they weren't sure if they would recede, as they knew nothing of her breeding history. Doesn't matter to us, she is so sweet. I do have some oatmeal wipes that I have been using on her. Would give her a bath again, but very stressful and don't want her getting too excited with the heartworm treatment. I just need to be patient, and get the heartworms gone and then work on all the other stuff. Once again thank you.

I am new to this and posted a reply, but think it just went out in the general conversation. I think I should have replied to you here.
