I have a 16 week old Schnoodle that I am currently feeding Natural Way dog food, which is a rice and lamb mixture. I would prefer to stay away from Purina and Iams and would like to stick with something natural, however, she is always itching. The only problem I can think of is the puppy food I am feeding her. She doesn't have fleas or anything and she is bathed with puppy shampoo and conditioner but she just won't stop itching.
What is a good puppy food I can switch her to?
Is itching normal in puppies?

Thanks so much!

Vets always suggest Science Diet because they sell it and get a kickback.

The food you're feeding isn't horrible, but it's not very good either and may be causing some problems. Just because it says "natural" doesn't mean it's good.

I suggest changing your dog to a limited ingredient dog food for adult dogs. I have never fed puppy food. Natural Balance has several good limited ingredient foods. I feed Sweet Potato and Venison. I believe Solid Gold has a LTD food, too. There are probably several others.

Thanks! She is actually at the vet as we speak getting her shots so I will call the vet and see what they say. I do agree that they will suggest Science Diet but I will see what else they suggest. Thanks again for the help!

Hi...your puppy looks adorable!....what breed is he?

I feed my guy Blue Buffalo....it's sold at Petsmart & Petco -- very good ingredients and has alot of Omega 3 oils which is good for the skin.

Thanks everyone! I am trying her on Blue Buffalo right now. I think she's allergic to something so hopefully this one will work! She's also got a urinary tract infection I think she had when I got her and now she may need an ultrasound if the infection doesn't clear up. :( Wish her luck! She's a schnoodle and so is her sister, the loves of my life!
