Ok, it's actually my first puppy ever, but I live with my girlfriend, who's extremely experienced with pup & dog-raising. In late August '09, we're moving to a new house in the midwest, and we pick our puppy up from the breeder a few days after we get there. I'm super excited to learn so much - both at home and here at the forum!

Yours,
'pua

Welcome and that's cool that you're getting a Shiba Inu. They're great little dogs; I know what you mean by first time owner as I am one too. It is great to learn all about the breed! Good luck with yours and what are you and your girlfriend naming the puppy?

Thanks for the reply, Spirit_of_Cotons. We haven't firmly decided on a name yet, but I'll update this thread when we do. We've only spent an hour with the pup, which was 2 weeks old at the time of our meeting. The breeder is holding on to him until he's 8 weeks old, which seems to be a fairly standard time.

Well definitely share those if you have a spare moment to post them. :)

Ah, so you're not too close, not too far... if you're like us, this is the first sunny day you've had in a while! I'm very glad I have no more wet doggie paws trailing through my house...
