Hi everyone. I am a longtime dog owner. I currently have a rescued GSD, Cat-dog, who is about 6 yrs old. She was picked up off the street after being attacked by another dog(s). She has dog fear issues due to this and gets very nervous outside.

I also have an adopted "Giant JRT", Tornado-dog. He is techically parsons, shih tsu, peke, and collie, but in reality he is a JRT brain in a collie-sized body. Unfortunately, his brain doesn't comprehend that it is not inside a JRT 15lb body. He is just about 50lbs at 9 months old.

Here he is when the tornado dissipated upon his arrival at 7 weeks...

Cat-dog loved him the moment she met him. Here they are at bedtime that first night (yes, she taught him to sleep under the bed with her):

They are quite the pair. She still has dog fear issues and tends to be very nervous outdoors. She has adjusted to her backyard and her three dog neighbors. She is getting braver towards them and no longer runs inside when they are out (wood and chain link fence between them).

.

I have had dogs all my life and have fostered for a local rescue. My dad did conformation, first with a husky, then with akitas. My mom did rescue. So we always had multiple dogs of various breeds and mixes. I also did obedience and conformation with a rescued boxer for 10 years as a kid.

I also have two cats, The Twooney (Looney1 and Looney2), and an Amazon parrot, Bird.

Thanks. Yes, I suspect Cat-dog is purebred. She was unspayed and had had at least one litter in the past. Add to that, she had obviously been obedience trained and crate trained, and she immediately took to mothering Looney1, and had an obsession with young puppies, I believe she was a backyard breeding dog that got out or was dumped. She has torn ears from the dog attack that happened before animal control picked her up. The white scarring hairs on her muzzle have all but disappeared.

Energetic is putting it nicely. Tornado-dog is a tornado. If you don't occupy him, he will occupy himself and that means disaster. If he just weren't so cute about it... Fortunately Cat-dog took on the big sister role with zeal. She does most of the work for me.
