First time dog owner...

we have a 8 week old lab pup. As for food, after a feeding do I take the bowl up or leave it down with what ever food she doesn't finish? I'm trying to set a schedule with food and potty, but just not sure if she goes back and eat more (after the initial feeding and potty) whether she is hungry or just "snacking" and is not necessary.

It's our 2nd day of ownership so we are still trying to figure it all out.

If you want to monitor her pottying, then I would keep her on a feeding schedule and take the bowl up when she is done eating. She probably needs to eat 3-4 small meals a day (not sure, it's been along time since I had a pup!). If she is eating and leaving food, maybe you are feeding too much at a meal. I hope this helps. I'm sure there are members on this forum that know much more than me. Hopefully they'll chime in to help you. Good luck!

I agree with 3-4 small meals. The dog knows when it's full. And your vet can give you a good idea of the growth curve as you go in for the regular series of puppy vacs.

Don't worry about leftovers. And the scheduled feedings will make potty training faster and more predictable.
