Hi-
Our old coonhound passed away in October, so we waited a bit and just adoped a Black Mouth Cur from our local shelter. She is just under a year old and very loving. She was picked up as a stray down in Georgia, and she was sent to Massachusetts last week. We adopted her shortly after she arrived.
She is a smart dog -- easily bored and pretty clever. I have to rethink everything because what worked with our old dog is NOT going to work with Zoe. I am certain I will have tons of training questions because she is not used to being in a house. We are starting the process of clicker training right now, and she seems motivated.
Anyway, I am excited to have a forum to share stories and get advice (and maybe even offer some...who knows?).
