Hello everyone! Michael here- Me, My wife and 2 children(8 and 5) rescued a 9 week Catahoula.

Excited to be here- My mom took my dog away when I was 12 - I swore never to get a dog until I new I could keep it forever. I guess now is forever- I absolutely love this dog. He follows me around the house everywhere!

We are feeding Innova Puppy Dry- We also purchased a Drinkwell 360 which I must say keeps Taz drinking water all day.

He is chocolate with black patchwork (merle) and one blue eye. He is super smart- especially once we got him out of " herding our kids" lol.

He is now almost 4 months and 42 lbs..we are starting obedience class in 2 weeks- we waited to get his last shot of parvo (this Saturday) to take him to dog parks and obedience class. He has socialized with our next door neighbors dogs- and we've had various kid sleep overs, so hes seen plenty of new faces....this dog is definitely living the high life

I'm so glad you gave a shelter dog a home ...and socializing your pup at a young age with other dogs & children is a great thing to do!

His name is Taz (as in Tasmanian devil) with a Z.

His eyes are "cracked marble" Left is blue and his right is predominantly Brown with a blue spot.

He's awesome with the kids. My daughter pulls his ears or tries to put underwear on him- he gets up and walks away.

Last weekend during the sleep over the kids were playing tackle football and I stood outside in the backyard while he just laid and watched.

He follows me everywhere, If I get up he looks to see where I'm going at all times - Awesome dog!

We are starting obedience class in 2 weeks at petsmart and finally we can do dog park Saturdays (His last parvo shot is saturday)

We went to the Austin shelter to " look at dogs"

My wife says - "omg look at this black lab puppy"

Myself and my 8 yr old son- we're looking down the opposite isle, then we saw him (TAZ)..My wife never showed us the puppies after I showed her TAZ.

Unfortunately, he had a hold on him- he was up for adoption for only 3 hours before getting a hold. So we put a second hold on him. (We planned on getting his brother as a second choice) He was from a litter of all white with brown patchwork Catahoula puppies...Long story short- we went and waited an hour at the shelter till the 5pm deadline. The initial girl who wanted to adopt him never showed up.

Maybe my wife paid her off - hehe

My son thinks its his dog- don't tell anyone.... its really mine
