My six-month old minature Schnauzer, Charlie, is aggressive with humans he doesn't know. He missed out on some socialising for a month due to a broken paw and is getting better with dogs now he's out and about more, but I can't stop to talk to anyone. Sometimes he barks whilst wagging his tail then snaps if approached.
He attends dog training classes which is helping but I need to get him to the groomers! He was meant to go today but I had to bring him home because he snapped when she tried to touch him.
I've got a "shake tin" which I've started using and that seems to help but will I ever get him completely cured through training classes and the shake tin or is there something else I should be doing/doing differently?

You can still socialize him, but it will take a few months of concerted effort. Have people interact with him, but not pet him. If he barks, have them toss him treats. Toss a treat over his head behind him, then toss one closer. When he gets close, ask them to walk away without petting. If he looks interested, ask them to come back and repeat, then when he comes close, they can try to pet him. After you figure out how he interacts and when it is safe to pet him, plan to do this with 3 - 5 people every other day or so, until he has played with 100 different men, women, and children...
