My newly adopted Wrinkles just got back from the vet. It's confirmed, his front left paw is lame, likely due to a neck or shoulder injury when he was younger. Because he doesn't have a lot of feeling in it and he drags it, he will need to wear a boot to keep it from getting cut up. Any recommendations for a bootie company? I've googled and found a number of them, but I'm hoping some of you have recommendations or products that have worked for you.

Wrinkles is 46 lbs, he is due to gain 10 more though. He's a hound mix.

Some additional information: The boot is more to protect the bottom of his paw. The pad has been sustaining the most damage, he doesn't seem to drag it upside down.

It depends on what surface we're talking about. Muttluks are great for indoors and softer surfaces but I've found they wear quickly on concrete and harder surfaces. The thinner Muttluks are probably best recommended for indoor use. Anything with a sock top on it I think will stay on more securely than one without.

If the dog is going to walk on sidewalks and rougher surfaces I'd highly recommend Bark'n Boots. They have a nice rubber bottom unlike the Muttluks, which I think is cork. A bit expensive but they've been the best I've found.

I haven't had to use them myself but I've heard really good things about Ruffwear boots.

The boot is to protect his paw on his walks, so surfaces include asphalt, sidewalk, and grass. Hopefully as his abrasions heal, eventually hikes. It looks like both of you recommended the Bark'n Boots, looking at the product specs on both the Grip Trex and regular, it doesn't seem they're waterproof? Any experience with them getting wet? At least in the beginning, I do need it to keep his dressing dry.

I ordered two of the bark n' books, one of the skyliner and one of the grip trex. I hope they work out. Any suggestions for a bootie for wet weather would also be appreciated

j use pawz direct disposable boots for my arthritic collie,she turns her feet over.they are waterproof and could maybe go over a dressing..theyre like little balloons,and last loads longer then youd think.you get twelve to a pack,good luck with your dog.
