So I will be bringIng home my first shiba inu puppy in a few weeks, I’m no stranger to owning dogs of many breeds so I’m not so worried about training in general. What I am worried about is the possibility of her crying loudly at night, when I brought home my first husky he scream cried at night for 4 months straight, eventually he did stop but I also lived in a house so It wasn’t as much of a problem, with huskies I was advised to leave him be during the night and he would eventually stop and that was true. But I now live in an apartment with pretty thin walls, dogs are allowed and my neighbors aren’t really rude or the type to make complaints just because, but I don’t want the chance of her crying all night waking them and myself up. I don’t know that she will do this, but there is a chance she may, I plan on creating her at night in my room with a blanket that smells like me inside the crate and another one covering the crate, as well as getting all her energy out before bed time. The last pup I brought home we covered the crate and she did not cry at all, but if she does end up crying at night, is there any advice that can be given before hand to hopefully put a stop to it if it does happen? Though I have trained and raised many puppies of different breeds I haven’t had the pleasure of training a shiba inu yet, any advice on this would be extremely helpful!

Where was the screaming husky puppy crated? I've raised quite a few puppies. The only one that screamed was the one I tried crating on the 1st floor when my bedroom is on the 2nd. As soon as I gave in and put her in a crate next to my bed, she stopped. Then I realized with her right there, I heard her moving restlessly or the lowest whine and was able to get her out in the night when she needed to go (slept in my clothes to make zooming her outside easier). I've gotten every one of them to sleep through the night without accidents that way.

And I may be wrong - hope you'll post here after you've been through the experience and say - but I'd expect a Shiba puppy to be different than a husky and more like an Akita. I had Akitas back in the 70's and early 80's, and they were pretty quiet dogs. One of them, on seeing something that would set most dogs barking, would give one single loud bark and then look at me as if to say, "There, I gave you notice, Now do what you will about it."

Yes he was crated, when I had him I tried having him in my room in the crate at first as well as in my room with the crate open and in my bed, we eventually moved him downstairs where he still cried but he eventually did stop after a few months.
Also yes they’re aren’t the same as huskies but I have read that some will cry at night but they are generally more on the quiet aside from their infamous shiba scream and like you said their “warning barks” I just worry she may cry and want some advice on how to help that if she does. Thank you though for the response!
