In this picture, he is about 6 months old. We are at home after a bit of training. He had a thing about wanting to up on top of my shoulders. I was sitting on the floor with my back against the sofa. He was on the sofa and on my shoulders.

Affectionate little thing. I have a samba beagle that loves attention and likes to be a lap dog and also a bed buddy.

Shadow didn't start off as a bed buddy. But the homes here in South China do not have heat. So, the winter when the temperature gets to <15C, the concrete buildings get pretty chilly. Shadow discovered the bed was warmer than the tile floor. I had an electric blanket. Since then, he is my "guard" when I sleep. Consequently, I keep him free of parasites, frequent baths and grooming. I figure if we are going to share a bed, then we both need to be clean. Fortunately, he doesn't like to be covered and is happy on top.
