my lab pup has a new friend

The brother to my cat Pepper (his name was 'Chad O.' ) was hit by a car and died about 3 years ago ... he was pure black and our Pepper is white ... we called them the 'Oreo' twins since they were from the same litter ....

but anyways, do you think 'Pepper' is fond of the puppy because 'Pepper' is lonley? 'Pepper' gets along great with our older dog as well !!!
