Clearly, my dog is a mutt, so I can see why people have a hard time figuring out what mix he is, but it makes me laugh that he has been confused for being either a wolf, a pit bull, or a coyote. I never thought a dog could be confused for both a wolf and a pit bull! He is a Carolina Dog mixed with a Boxer, as best as I can tell, and he is stocky, and has yellow eyes, but beyond that, I'm not seeing similarities .
Here's the dingo with an underbite:
Have any of your dogs been very mistakenly identified too?
Our White Swiss Shepherd gets mistaken for being a wolf, husky, someone even thought he was a golden retriever.
Your dog reminds me of a corgi/lab mix of some sort... I'm probably totally wrong though I don't see boxer at all. Neither do I see pitbull, and wolf is the last thing on my mind when I see him
I had a white, well, yellowish heeler/ausie mix. When I first saw the above pictures I too thought cattle dog. It's possible. Ha!! I called him my little dingo!
A golden retriever? How funny! My boy is definitely mostly Carolina Dog (gold fur, fish hook tail, tiny webbed feet...) but the rest of him is anyone's guess! He appears to be a little bit Boxer because of his underbite and round head, but I'm not sure . Your boy is very handsome, by the way!
I get that too. Many people meet Jubel and think he's still a growing older puppy, they are shocked when I tell them he's a little over 3.5 years old and not getting any bigger. He's a little under 50# right now. I guess it's his happy energy that makes them think puppy, I don't know.
My dog, Hobbes, is a mix of (apparently) pit bull x lab x something pointy-eared. But when we adopted him the rescue had him listed as lab x BC - which is hilarious because there's not a bit of BC in there! I mean, if there is it's well hidden.

Border collie?! I wonder where they came up with that? Hobbes is quite handsome, but not at all collie-like!
Also, here is a pic of a Carolina Dog for reference:
I'm sure he is half Carolina dog, and his other parent must have been a fantastic blend of things that should have never been mixed . I could definitely see some Cattle Dog in him, so maybe a parent was part Cattle Dog, part something with an underbite and shorter muzzle?
My dog also gets a lot of weird guesses. All I know is that her mom was an even smaller Brindled dog than she is (my dog is about 30 lbs.; her mom was about 15 lbs.). But, when we see ACDs in person, it's hard for me to believe that her dad wasn't at least part ACD, even though her coloring is all wrong (I know nothing about coat genetics).
A pit or a wolf???????????
What has humanity become!?
