My dog is a 2 and a half year old mutt, mix of lab, pitt, rott, ridgeback, etc. He has had a few problems with hot spots in the past.
Well 10 days ago I moved to a house that has no air conditioning and has some bugs/flies around, and is a bit dirty (it was built in the 1940's). There are two other cats and a small dog in the house as well. As far as I can tell, my dog does not have fleas.
The problem is that my dog has numberous scabs all around his neck and a few other spots on his body. He has a big one over the right side of his hind (which I am almost sure is a hot spot). He is itching a lot more as well, and I think I can feel some bumps to which I think are just bug/mosquito bites.
I think these are hot spots. What should I do? At the moment, with money, I can't really afford to take him to see a vet. Thank you for your help.
