Thanks! I have no idea where the spotted tongue comes from. He's a shelter puppy (got him at 9-10wks old), so I have zero background on him. A lot of folks tell me that he must be part Chow, but nothing about him says "Chow" to me.WOW! How cool! I love Morgan's tongue... : P Spotted, how unique!
It looks like Morgan had a blast! I hope someday I'll have Donatello worked up well enough that he'll be able to romp and wrestle with other dogs...
I know there are other breeds with purple tongues, but it just seems to be the most prominent with Chows. As for your dog being part chow... I'm not sure if the purple tongue is just subjected to the Chow breed or not. I once had a rescue puppy find it's way to my home after a tornado one night; She had a purple mouth and spotted tongue, but was the size of a Beagle. ??? Strrrrange!
Thank you!Great pictures!!! Morgan is gorgeous.
Lol! I like that description. Very funny!Mystery it shall stay! lol! It looks like a sharpie exploded in his mouth. : P
Hmmm... interesting. I would kind of doubt that Morgan has any akita or husky in him, but he may have lab or shepherd. (He was listed as a "lab mix" at the shelter, but who really knows. How adorable! I wish we had a dog park around here. The spotted tongue isn't just in Chows. My grandma's dogs both have it and the boy is a retriever/shepard mix (I think) and the girl is an Akita/husky mix.
