He's met people and a few other dogs before so after this mornings potty, play and breakfast I took him to a parade here in town. We didn't stay for the procession because I didn't want to overwhelm the 8 week old Akbash/Pyre, but we did greet just about everyone passing by-I think I might nickname the litte guy "lady killer". He did very well, didn't bark or cower and his tail was wagging the whole time. Most of the time he was on the ground but sometimes I had to carry him. He lets people come to him about 80 percent of the time. After that he explored a dog store and met a few more humans. No other dogs yet today. He will get huffy at people sometimes depending on his mood, just haven't quit figured out what that mood is... Maybe it's when he's tired...

You might talk to your Vet about the safety of letting an 8 week pup on the ground or near unknown dogs, until your dog has had all three sets of vaccinations. According to my Vet in my area of the country, it is OK to let a pup play with adult dogs that are known to be up to date with vaccinations.

Otherwise, his huffiness isn't a surprise with an over tired 8 week old... but that's OK, as long as you protect him from infections and roughness. I expect a pup to be friendly for the first 5 -15 min., after that depends on the breed, dog, and circumstance...
