Hello its Jenn. Our little Miss Molly is 10 weeks old now...so that means she has been with us now for 2 weeks. From the day we got her she has inhaled her food at feeding times. At first I didn't worry about it, I figured she'd soon realize that she doesn't have to fight her litter mates and she'll slow down....SHE HASN'T!! She still inhales it and wimpers while she eats. She doesn't bother to chew. Can someone please give me some advise on what to do. I don't want her to get used to wet food or me wetting her food. I'll feed her one piece at a time if I have to! Thanks a bunch!

Hello and thank you so much. I may try the food for treats thing I was worried about her gaining weight and her treat intake! She's going to be a bigger sized dog, she is a "spanierd" (german shepherd, springer spaniel) so she needs a good amount but with her being so young going outside every hour and therefore getting a treat every hour, on top of working on our commands and, our biting thats a lot of treats in a day. I of course was breaking them down into smaller bits but even still I thought it to be a lot. She has no one to fight over the food with. I feed her 3 times a day once at 7 am then again at 11 am then dinner at 4. And like I said before there is no way she is starving with all the treats she gets between meals. I'm a stay at home mom so I work with her solid one on one throughout this time of day (its nap time but she's about to be up for lunch) and then once the girls get home we just include them in the training! She is doing extremely well in every department just this eating thing worries me a bit. Especially the wimpering, I don't want her to associate eating with pain...that would just be awful!!
