Just curious on what anyone would think could be mixed in these two! I don't have any more pictures though, so sorry for that! :( They are both only 20-23lbs also! I just can't pinpoint what could possible be in them... maybe they are just a giant mix of breeds! :D whatever breed you see in them, feel free to say it!

After an early morning bit of googling: Rat/Beagle doesn't look too unlikely at all.

I'd definitely agree on rat terrier. And maybe some Miniature Pincsher and/or Lab? The part that confuses me, is where does the coloring come from? They seem to have very bold tan markings, especially the first one.

Black and tan is fairly common with rat terriers, and the original color of the dog. /random info blurb Though usually they're 'black and tan tuxies' where there are white feet. That said, there is definitely something else in there, based mostly on the bottom dog. could just be the ears being back, but it looks a little more houndy.

Ahh, okay. Then that makes sense. I didn't know black and tan markings like that were common in rat terriers. And honestly, the second one looks like it might even have some German Shepherd, despite the size.

Everyone's got a breed they love, I think. Rats just ended up being mine. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known anything. You might be right about the GSD. Or min-pin. Who knows, but they're adorable little dogs.

I should find a picture of my old Rat Terrier, Ralphie! He was my dog when I was 4, and he kind of looked like a big, old, and fat version of the one in your Avatar(he was given to us by someone who could no longer take care of him). He was the best dog ever! He use to run back and forth through the house once we let him in, all crazy excited, and then just jump up on the couch and immediately fall asleep. Hahaha. Ohhh Ralphie..

Jack's the first dog back in our house after a hiatus from having dogs, and he is... a dream. We got him from a breeder after she retired him from her breeding program, and he is just... perfect in every way. Energetic, active, playful, tenacious, smart, sweet - and yeah. Will run like a maniac for quite a while, but when he's ready to leap onto the couch or bed to sleep. Forget it. He's not moving again.

She looks like my girl in many ways. So I'm going to guess the same mix for your dog, likely a rat terrier/beagle mix! :)

This is an old picture and her nails were terribly long back then, but I chose it because it's the only one I could find where she had her ears relaxed. The droopier of the two looks just like your dog's.

And CptJack, I don't know if I'll ever seek out a purebred, but rat terriers are my number one favorite breed as well. :)

EDIT: LOL, I just now noticed these are two different dogs. So I'm referring to the second image. Are these two dogs littermates? I almost see APBT in the first dog, but had assumed it was just the angle of the shot making it look that way when I thought they were both the same dog.

Pretty sure they are littermates, but couldn't be 100 percent sure! so they might not be littermates at all, or possibly one has the same parent but a different mom/dad. I found another picture of the second dog though :)!

It's still not very good, but it's all I have though :)

He looks like a doxie (I can not spell the proper breed name) in the face, there. So, standard doxie/Rat, maybe?
