So I took Duke to the vet. He was skin scraped for mites and tested for ringworm. Question..if the skin scrape is negative, do I treat for mites anyway or wait to see what happens? Ivermectin was mentioned as was Revolution as possible treatments, if needed. As some of you may know, we've had issues with food and I'm not sure that the biting of the fur isn't from the previous food which we stopped 2 weeks ago. I'm confused.

I feel we just keep moving from one thing to another..

One more question..has anyone in a similar situation done any preventative measures for humans against ringworm prior to knowing it was postivie? Kinda scares and wigs me out at the same time.

Ringworm is a fungal infection, not a worm. Just wash your hands after touching your dog, though to be honest, if you haven't caught it up to this point, you probably won't.

I don't see any reason to treat for mites if the dog doesn't have mites.
