My 12 year old golden retriever had some sarcoptic mange around her one eye awhile ago. We stopped the mange with several applications of Revolution. A few tiny spots have regrown some of her hair back but most of the skin is still black, elephant skin looking, and very dry and itchy to her.
Because it's around her eye, I don't want to just put any cream on it. Does someone have some suggestions as to a cream I can rub into that spot to keep it more moist that will not irritate her eye. Because it is so dry she continues to try to rub her eyes against the ground and the skin sometimes cracks open and bleeds.

Thanks in advance!

Ask your vet for an ophthalmic ointment. You can apply it the skin without worrying about it getting into the eye.
