I have a 6 year old male German Shorthair, he has two large lumps on his chest/belly....does anyone have any ideas what this could be? Everytime I take him to the vet it's about $200. I don't want to take him if this isn't a serious condition?
my old dog has soft lumps all over his body, my vet calls them fatty tumors and says they are a natural thing that normaly doesn't hurt the dog. If the lumps are soft I wouldn't worry too much about them but if they feel firm I would definatly get the dog a vet check. that is just my opinon and I am no replacement for a vet.
Thanks for replying...that is kind of what I thought to....they've been there for a while now...I guess I'll just keep an eye on them and if anything changes I'll take him to the vet. Thx!
6 years old is not very old for a dog. Brutus' tumor that ended up being cancerous was a soft tumor. I wouldn't take any chances although I might price around for a cheaper vet. I paid $240 for them to keep Brutus all day long and do surgery on him to cut out his tumor.
