Hi there. I'm in Santa Cruz and we adopted our 3 month old Frenchton about a month ago. I've owned dogs all my life, mostly Pit Bulls. We currently have a 6 year old brown Boston Terrier and our new 3 month old Frenchton (half Boston, Half French Bulldog... ours very much favors the Frenchie side of the equation).
I feel confident about my dog raising and training abilities, but have found that each dog has a completely unique personality and requires me to learn new tricks and training methods. When we were raising our Boston as a puppy, we were heavily influenced by The Ceasar Milan style of training. And while I feel there is some good stuff to learn from his teachings (mainly being a confident and secure human), I also feel like it isn't the path I want to follow this time around. I clearly saw how it caused our Boston stress at times which leads me to follow a new path this time around with our new puppy.
Looking forward to learning and growing as a dog owner!
