so we have a PRT (Parsons Russell Terrier) 2 1/2 years old, has always had a walker midday since I went back to work full time. Considering cutting that out or back, since I plan to do a 2-3 mile walk with him each morning before i go to work. he is crate and house trained- he can have run of the house without destroying anything or even having accidents. I guess my biggest concern was hime being on his own from 9:30 - 5:30 Mon thru friday. so i wanted your opinions:

keep the walker- he needs to day broken up!
cutting back to 2 or 3 times a week then vut it out completely
cut it out cold turkey so his schedule is set

financially we COULD keep the walker, but of course we could find other ways to use those hundreds of bucks if it's really not a problem for the dog...

what say you? thanks in advance!

can he hold it for that amount of time?

if so, i'd just let the walker go, thank them and tell them you'll gladly give referals.
yep- he can hold it... i guess the attention and breaking up the day with a walk is what i like about it. and of course, the exercise. she actually jogs him sometimes, which i cannot do (bad ankle.)

The only way to know for sure how it will affect the dog is to try it.

I would try cutting back first and see how he is. If that works out for him, try going a whole week with no dog walker. You may find that cutting out that little bit of exercise during the day makes a huge difference. Again, you don't know if you don't try it. :D

Personally, I would not cut out the dog walker cold turkey. Don't forget, she needs to earn a living too. She will fill your spot quickly and if you decide you want her back.. she might not have the time.
