my guys are big, I look for a protein to fat, and what the cal per cup is. I actually prefer a food that is just food and no special supplements in it. I would rather have more control of adding supplement separately. They are very athletic in ability, but not very active dogs consistently. the bag recommends 8 cups and they do well to maintain on 5 or 6 daily.

if we are talking about puppies I really liked the Royal Canin Giant puppy.. the ingredients read like a nightmare to me, but the breeder recommended it as what he feeds his own puppies. And my two previous pups seem to struggle around the age of 7 months with the other food I had tried to grow them out on. Tasman loved the Giant Puppy, had a smooth growth the breed easy to reach 100lbs around 7 months old. At the appropriate age I tried to change over to the Giant Jr. but Tasman wouldn't eat it, so I stay'd on the Giant puppy longer Before movinging him over to what my other adult dogs were eating at almost 2 years old.
