A good fence between them. Keep the dog on a leash if you need to walk it past the bird area.

Dogs killing prey animals is a normal, natural behavior. It is not desirable of course from a human point of view but in many breeds, it is basically hard wired instinct.

Maybe describe your setup (coops, fencing, where does dog stay in day and night times, breed of dog etc) for more specific advice.

Keep the dog separate from the livestock (chickens are livestock). Fencing for one or the other or both.

Training a dog to leave ducks and chickens alone is usually started at a young age. Some dogs can never be trusted.
