So we have a Frenchie, no central-air, and an all-carpet apartment. Needless to say, I am looking for ideas as to how to keep the pup cool during the summer season. Creative ideas, products, etc, anything that will help us keep him from getting overheated.

Also, I have seen cooling beds online but can't find many reviews- does anyone have experience with them?

I have this cooling mat. Alvin refuses to use it because he apparently doesn't like the texture. He won't even step on it without making a weird dog face. Clifford tries to use it, but its difficult for him. The pad is very small and he is very large and disabled, so it's hard for him to aim his body so that it lands properly on the mat.

Chewing on ice cubes helps, as does letting him have a little swim in the bathtub now and then.
